    It’s not on iTunes either.

  3. Kid Flash X Says:

    Gah! Sorry… it’s fixed now.

Obet: Nice intro. Cool update on the site.

Not into comics but I’ll listen anyway…you know for the witty re-par-tee.

  5. Obi Says:

KFX: If you like more of the good story, then you might want to check out some manga. There’s a lot of good ones out there with really good writing. Of-course, there some crappy ones, but the good ones overshadows them. If you’re interested, I can suggest a few titles for you. I know MG knows some good manga titles.

    And nice intro by Obet.

  6. Obet Says:

I have not listened yet but the BEST MANGA EVER is Lone Wolf and Cub. It will burn a hole in your pocket but it’s worth it. 28 volumes and 8,700 pages. It’s a classic.

  7. Obi Says:

I have to agree with Obet. Very good read. Dark Horse released it here statestide.

I usually read comics from DC/Vertigo. Neil Gaiman’s take on Sandman is worthwhile - especially the comics making up the Myths and Fables arc. Alan Moore’s work is also a worthwhile read from Watchmen and The Killing Joke. Kingdom Come is nice as well. Manga - Barefoot Gen, Ranma 1/2, Maison Ikkoku, Adolph. Baron and Rude’s Nexus and Allred’s Madman is good as well. Grendel: Devil by the Deed and Sin City by Matt Wagner ditto. Nonoy Marcelo’s Ikabod is a worth read.

For comics its the best when good images and good story blend together. Although given to choice between a comic book with nice art with so so story and a comic book with so so art and nice story… I would pick the one with the nice story.

HA ha ha, what a great intro! Yay comics–why read words when you can look at pictures.

  10. Obet Says:

I have about 5-6 original Japanese Lone Wolf and Cub mangas from the 70’s and the mini bunkko (I think) from the 80’s. NOBODY else has these. They are impossible to find.

  11. Manong Guard Says:

    juned,

I see you are into a lot of Rumiko Takahashi. I used to read Ranma 1/2 but, while I am usually a purist with my anime, I have to admit that I like the Viz Video rendition more than the manga.

I think one of the best manga stories would be “Crying Freeman” which coincidentally is now being released by Dark Horse comics in the States.

Ahhh that geek talk. I remember these guys talking about geek stuff way back in the KAMP days. MIRA was still alive then, right ManongGuard? hehehe…

Hmmm… I got that “Spiderman vs. Superman” for my kid a month ago. It was in mint condition then… WAS… sigh.

Back in highschool, I was a proud owner of the first issue of The Simpsons.

How about those coming from the local comicbook scene. You guys read “After Eden”?
