Damn, you guys beat us in talking about these horrible podcasts. The Microwarehouse podcasts suck except the one by Jessica. She needs her own feed. I read a press release where they guy in charge of the podcasts said that he would “upload” them to iTunes. You don’t “upload to iTunes. They also take forever to download. After hearing the Gay one, I wanted to spill hot coffee on my face. Awful. Corporate Podcasts suck a fat one.

S.R. Thai has moved to this small niche past McDonalds’ and Cravings on Katipunan… if you blink you’ll miss it. i’m not done listening yet though…
November 29th, 2005 at 10:20 am
I think Flay beat Sakai…
Anyways… you guys are way better than Microwarehouse folks…
November 29th, 2005 at 10:36 am
Jay,
I caught that episode with Bobby Flay and ? (sorry to say I don’t remember the other chef’s name) with the Butternut Squash as the secret ingredient. I have to say, that sa presentation pa lang, Flay wins it! His presentation was really good! But then again, I wanted to vote for the underdog.

There should be a much better/deserving place to centralized the podcast directory in the philippines. I agree with Obet, corporate podcasts sucks big time.

I always get a kick out of seeing that Iron Chef dude take a big bite out of a raw bell pepper/capsicum during the opening sequence.
November 29th, 2005 at 3:00 pm
EJ, haha! Ako rin! How about when he stares at this piece of food (what was it anyway) and he puts the whole thing in his mouth in one bite? And he manages to still look serious! haha!
November 29th, 2005 at 8:26 pm
Diong,
Sakai got beat? Is it the same Sakai from the original Iron Chef? And thanks for the support.
Anne,
It was against Chef Armstrong, who apparently has been Wolfgang Puck’s apprentice since he was 13. I think they slacked off a little and Chef Flay put in the extra effort. Mox has a crush on that Armstrong dude. She claims he looks like a black Keanu Reeves. What do you think?
Anne and EJ,
That is Mark Dacascos. I think he’s half Pinoy.
November 29th, 2005 at 10:07 pm
I hate Bobby Flay! Give me some credit, I did try to give him a chance even if he rubbed me the wrong way from the start. I tried to reserve judgment and just make it all about the food. But when I saw the intro episode of Iron Chef America last year (hosted by was that Alton Brown?) against Sakai, when he stepped on the chopping board, that was it. Yuck.

Hi, pwede bumati? I can’t find the link, but I’d like to say Hi to whoever made all those logo studies, ang galing mo naman! And even if none of your studies gets chosen, FWIW here is a smiley face from me.
And this is for Bobby Flay
November 29th, 2005 at 11:00 pm
Aba! May bumabati pa. The logos were from Jamie. Let’s see… we have a “james”, we have a “jhamie”, and we have a “Jamie”. We have a “JayDJ” and we have me. Mukhang lumalaki na community natin sa people with names that start with “J”.
November 30th, 2005 at 12:29 am
Ha ha. Ken ai pas da fone?
Mabuhay si bell-pepper-muncher Mark Dacascos!
November 30th, 2005 at 1:06 am
I thought it was Flay vs Morimoto where he got on top of the chopping board? In any case, I hated him after that.
I was so happy when Ming Tsai won against him. Tsai was so much more creative. I loved his East meets West show when he was still on the Food network.
November 30th, 2005 at 1:10 am
What I want to see is a Bobby Flay Vs. Stephen Yan match. Let’s see him beat the Wanda Powda!
November 30th, 2005 at 1:24 am
Stephen Yan? Is he the dude from Wok with Yan? If so, I remember how I used to watch a lot of his show in Pinas. When he cooked, I could almost feel the hot oil splashing out of the TV XP I was in elementary back then…
November 30th, 2005 at 1:56 am
I think that’s his name… of course I could be wrong.
November 30th, 2005 at 2:55 am
Ahh, it is him. Just googled it.

He was funny XP
November 30th, 2005 at 3:33 am
OMG - That’s a lot of rice MG! Mag-South-Beach ka.
November 30th, 2005 at 4:34 am
Attack of the “J” people. Hehe.
November 30th, 2005 at 5:19 am
Low Carb diets suck… I’d rather poop myself out training to lose weight than go low carb.
November 30th, 2005 at 9:49 am
Jay,
Oops! I guess I was referring to the wrong show! I was thinking of the one from the original Iron Chef kasi that’s the show I seem to catch when I turn to the Food Network. I have to agree with Mox, cute nga si Chef Armstrong. I don’t know about him looking like a black Keanu Reeves though… Pero against Bobby Flay ba naman e syempre mas cute si Armstrong! But wala pa rin tatalo kay Naked Chef, Jamie Oliver.
Even though he lisps, it’s still hot!
Is Jhamie and Jamie the same person?
November 30th, 2005 at 11:11 am
Manong Guard,
Sakai was beaten by Flay in the pilot episode. Sakai and Morimoto came to the US and competed with Batali, Puck and Flay. It was lutong macao tho.
November 30th, 2005 at 1:43 pm
BTW, if any of you want to see how arrogant Bobby Flay is, watch Flay vs. Morimoto I (original Iron Chef) and read about the aftermath.
November 30th, 2005 at 9:32 pm
Hello Anne!
No, Jamie and I aren’t the same person. I wish I was him/her though, since the logos he/she came up with were really wicked!

So there… more Flay hating. I have yet to find people who are neutral with Flay. Aside from me of course. I think someone should learn him but I don’t think he’s half as bad as people think he is… more bark than bite.
December 1st, 2005 at 4:04 am
Hate is such a strong word. So maybe I just dislike him… well, his attittude. But then again, that was just one occasion when I judged his behavior. He could be a great guy but… who cares? It’s not like I matter to him in any shape or form. So maybe in this case, hate is ok XP

December 1st, 2005 at 4:25 am
Hehe. I’m positive. Black, navy, grey, blue, and red. Dasit!
December 1st, 2005 at 4:27 am
Send me a YM on manongguard@yahoo.com… I’m invisible right now… since you are obviously online.
December 1st, 2005 at 4:30 am
I was supposed to go to bed after I posted but you sidetracked me.. is that sentence right? XP I’m adding you though seeing as you’re usually on around this time as well.
Halong.

I’ve read somewhere that some of the previous FN hosts left the network because of Flay. Watch him carefully in his “battles”, watch his facial expression when a judge gives a negative remark. He always have that “You don’t know what you’re talking about, I’m a food god” kind of look. I’m so glad Ming Tsai kicked his @$$.
December 1st, 2005 at 8:22 pm
Hahaha… I should observe more closely I guess.
December 6th, 2005 at 9:01 pm
Bobby Flay is mediocre compared to Sakai. Nothing beats the original. Kid Flash X is right. A lot of filipino’s can grill better than Bobby Flay. What a f**k*n poser.
